After lots of family backpacking trips, my husband and I came up with this ultimate ultralight cook kit. It has only the items you need for meals, is super light and as a bundle, it boasts a fantastic price.  This kit weighs less than half than other cook kits offered which makes it perfect for kids, as well as long distance backpackers. Did you know - a backpacker’s pack shouldn’t weigh more than 20% of the backpacker?!  If you only weigh 90 lbs, your pack needs to be under 18 lbs!! With most cook kits weighing in at 2+ lbs, this kit will shave off at least 1 lb. There are other much, much heavier kits available, but they weigh down your backpack and take up unnecessary space with stuff that you don’t need!  This ultralight kit includes only the things you’ll need.
Here’s a breakdown of the essentials included in this set.
1 -  Pot - This kit includes a titanium 750mL pot which equates to about 16 fl oz.  Titanium is 45% lighter than steel and is the strongest metal available. This pot is wide and that provides more fuel efficiency because the water will boil faster.
2 - Spoon - The spoon in this kit is longer than the standard spoon for a reason!  The instant meals that you make in pouches are tall, as are the plastic bag meals you can buy.  This spoon can stir the contents in the bag without getting your hands all messy.
3 - Stove - This kit includes a titanium alloy stove that you use with a gas canister.  What makes this stove better than the others is its super compact size and it’s weight. Most stoves are twice as heavy.
4 - Bamboo Scouring Cloth - Bamboo is antimicrobial meaning this cloth is less likely to get stinky!  It has a rougher surface and can scrub clean the cooking pot and spoon. Also, when folded up, it doubles as a pot holder.
5 - Stove Stand - This clips on to your gas canister to provide more stability making your pot less likely to tip over while boiling your water rather than just relying on the canister alone.  Larger base = more stable!
6 - Carabiner - This clip allows you to store your spoon on the outside of your pack, freeing up space in your bag and eliminating digging through your bag trying to find it!  All the other contents of the cook kit fit inside the pot.
When used in with premade bag meals - either store bought or Ziploc freezer bags prepared by you at home - this kit is everything you or your child will need backpacking.
