On March 29,1884, Fairmont Creamery was incorporated
by Implement dealer Wallace Wheeler and Attorney Joseph H. Rushton
in Fairmont, Nebraska
First product was butter
During the 1890s, creamery built six new plants across Southeastern Nebraska
In January, 1907, the creamery's general offices moved to Omaha
Company registered their Delicia trademark in 1907
Added Delicia trademark to further brand their ice cream
Became the first US creamery to use the Babcock test to measure cream's butterfat percentage
By the mid-1930s, Fairmont was producing more than thirty products
Fairmont became Fairmont Foods Company in 1947
By 1959, Fairmont Foods was among the country's five hundred largest corporations
Company headquarters moved to Houston in 1974
In 1980, Fairmont Foods became a wholly owned subsidiary of American Financial Corporation
