    Description

This listing is for components to make up an authentic WW2 Commando individual ration (24 hour) folding cook stove as issued for advanced troops on major offensives after 1943 (D-Day).  Also good for hiking, camping, fishing and in case of emergencies.
The "Tommy Cooker" fuel tins have an inner airtight lid and a slip on cover - they are a little over 2" diameter and 4" tall, they feature an authentic internal card liner and lid sealing tape.  The two most common colors issued were white or grey, gold and silver were the rarer versions - one man could be issued two tins of different colors ahead of an operation.  These are empty (no fuel) the original sized fuel is not available but there are many modern alternatives - fill as you wish.
The folding stove base is an authentic reproduction in Stainless Steel to add long life - it will self color (blue / browns) with use.  The hinge pin has been added over the original design of folded metal to allow long life and functionality.  It comes with two flat stainless steel burn disks - an original sized (smaller) one and a larger "fill the tripod" size for getting on with the boiling.
We have sourced a restaurant supply grade enamel pint mug that is as issued and authentic to the interwar and early 1945 activities - white with blue enamel rim.
Coming soon - high temp black paint and authentic lacquer finish on the stoves and a modern version of the British Army pint mug.  All so the results of our own burn tests and recipes.
Small stoves are unstable and can tip, the area they effect (all around them) gets hot and can cause other objects and surfaces to ignite and the possibility of injury and cooking (typically the back of an Army off road vehicle.
